What the client wanted
The client wanted to create their dream forever home. They didn’t want anything too modern and instead chose to go with something very traditional. In terms of the internal space, they wanted most of the ground floor to be open-plan to provide a practical family-oriented area where they could keep an eye on what their children were doing.

Our creative solution
As the site was within a conservation area, our planning consultants undertook a comprehensive character analysis of the street and then worked with our architects to design an interior for a traditional type of house. We also worked very closely with a structural engineer to make sure that the overly large steel beams needed to support the open-plan structure were sufficient.
Our favourite features
Without a doubt, our architect’s favourite feature was the incredible double-height entrance and hallway, which provides an instant ‘wow’ factor when walking in. It made the house feel so classically elegant and spacious. We also managed to squeeze in a wine cellar and cinema room. With so much going for it, our clients were delighted with the finished design.
immensely pleased.
