Frequently Asked Questions

Planning questions we’re often asked

What makes Adara different from other architects?

That’s easy. Not only do we have exceptional architects capable of all sorts of creative wizardry, but we also have an in-house team of former local authority planners. It’s an unusual blend of design and planning expertise that we haven’t seen in any other architectural practices, but for us, it’s a no brainer. It means we won’t just design your dream extension, we’ll make sure it sails through the planning system too.

Can you help me with
a planning permission
issue I’m having?

Yes of course. Our in-house planners work with lots of homeowners, and even architects, who have run into planning problems. Our team is hard-working, passionate and excellent at finding solutions to the most complex of planning issues.

Are some of your team accredited by any professional bodies?

Not just some – all of them. Our planners are members of The Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI), and our architects are members of the Architects Registration Board (ARB). This means our entire team are experts in their field; qualified and well positioned to give you the best advice.

Do you have a high planning permission success rate?

Yes! We have one of the highest success rates of all architectural practices in the country. We really do believe that it’s because of our unique mix of planners and architects working harmoniously together to make your project as seamless as possible. Our architects and planners work together, and with you, from day one: the architects making sure your designs look incredible and our planners making sure they’re granted the planning permission you need.

Will you know my
specific local
planning policies?

Our planners love nothing more than tucking into a planning magazine. This means that they have an encyclopaedic knowledge of varying local planning policies; staying up-to-date with any changes and being well placed to make sure that even the most ambitious extension project gets planning permission.
